Helicopter Development Program will cover the design, development, testing and manufacturing of training helicopters and light-weight general purpose helicopters with national resources and indigenously designed platforms and thus meet the demands of Turkish Armed Forces and other institutions. The contract regarding this Project was signed with TAI on June 26, 2013 and the program schedule commenced on September 6, 2013 following the contract. 

Within the scope of the program, a Program Kick-Off Meeting was held with TAI on October 11, 2013. In line with the contract, the design, development, testing and manufacturing of a light-weight general purpose helicopter in 5 tons category and with the capacity of 3 crew and 9 passengers are aimed. Acquiring certification and military qualification from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the helicopter shall be covered as well. According to the program schedule, the maiden flight is planned to take place in the 60th month and acquiring EASA’s civil certification in the 78th  month and military qualification in 90th month is aimed.
