HEMA Industry Joint Stock Company began manufacturing the suspension systems which are an important necessity in the field of defence industry and which directly affect the mobility of the tanks and armoured vehicles in its factory
in Çerkezköy. Together with torsion bars, passive
suspension systems have been being used in tanks until recently. However, with the development of hydro-pneumatic suspension systems which are
known as half active systems, torsion bar application which has been being used despite the difficulties being experienced for years is abandoned in new tanks (e.g. Challenger).
By beginning to manufacturing and export of sub-systems as a result of the technical cooperation agreement made with HORSTMAN Defence company
which originates from England and which manufactures suspension systems in the last generation vehicles such as Challenger Tanks and AS90 Stock Engined Obuses, HEMA Industry Joint Stock Company also continues the complete suspension system preparation works for the
National Tank Manufacturing Project and Armoured Vehicle projects. The latest development which is still being worked on in the suspension systems of military vehicles; maturing and going into application of the active suspension
systems.
