In the HÜRJET project, the roll-out and first ground tests were carried out on December 26, 2022, the engine was successfully started for the first time on January 30, 2023, and taxi tests began on March 18, 2023. HÜRJET accomplished its maiden flight on April 25, 2023.
The development activities under the HÜRJET Advanced Jet Trainer Project started in August 2017. The first component of the project was moved to the final assembly line, with a ceremony held on June 10, 2022. After the assembly activities were completed, ground tests were started (landing gear, cabling, canopy mechanism, and electrical tests), and following the successful the avionics system, electrical system, and fuel tests, the engine start test was completed on January 30, 2023 (one of the most important corners of the HÜRJET project). HÜRJET, which has been carrying out taxi tests since March 18, 2023, took to the skies for the first time on April 25, 2023.
HÜRJET took off at 7:35 am and completed its maiden flight safely, staying in the air for 26 minutes. HÜRJET climbed to an altitude of 14000 ft during the test and reached a speed of 250 knots. All systems worked as expected, and HÜRJET successfully completed the first flight test.
The variants of HÜRJET will include Advanced Jet Trainer, Lead-in Fighter Trainer, Light Attack (Close Air Support), Red Aircraft, Air Policing (Armed & Unarmed), and Acro Team Aircraft. HÜRJET, which has a service ceiling of 45000 ft, can reach a maximum speed of 1.4 Mach.
