TEI and GE Aviation, Makes Turkey a High Technology Base: Turkey Technology Center Is Being Establis

TEI and GE engineers will design and develop technology for all industrial and military airplane engines of GE Aviation in Turkey Technology Center (TTC) which will be realized as an engineering joint venture in 2008.

Tusas Engine Industry A.S (TEI) and GE Aviation (USA) announced with a held signing ceremony the constitution of Turkey Technology Center (TTC)
which is an engineering joint venture that will make Turkey a high technology center. TEI and GE top-level authorities also attended the ceremony
that was carried out with the participation
of Minister of National Defence Mr. Vecdi Gönül and Defence Industry Undersecretary Murad Bayar.
In the first stage 55 and in the following eriod 240 engineers will serve in TTC which will be established in Istanbul Gebze Free Zone. The engineers who are commissioned by GEMTC (GE Marmara Technology Center, Engineering Center of GE Aviation the Free Zone) and TEI will design and develop technology within TTC for the industrial and military airplane engines.
Thanks to TTC which is established upon the success of TEI-GE cooperation in the F136 Engine project that is developed for Joint Attack Fighter (JAF) by GE – Rolls-Royce Fighter
Engine crew, strategic partnership status of TEI with GE is aimed to be strengthened. Within the scope of this project which will constitute a touchstone in developing Turkish Aviation
Industry and in R&D activities, TEI will also play an important role in designing and veloping new technologies for all industrial and military engine components of GE Aviation. New gineering, production and maintenance technologiesapacities which will be formed thanks to TTM carries TEI to a more important point than being the ritical equipment anufacturer and engineering services bcontractor for GE Aviation; that is the status of a partner which develops design and Technology.
