TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) introduced the new TF6000 turbofan engine that generates 6,000 lb. of thrust. The derivatives of the engine can be used on aircraft, ships, and other national platforms. The engine will provide 10,000 lb. of thrust with the afterburner and be able to reach the necessary power level for supersonic (supersonic) flights. 

The following information was shared on TEI's social media account: “Chairman & CEO of TEI Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit provided information about the projects carried out by TEI. During the facility tour, a 1:1 scale model of the TEI-TF6000 was exhibited to participants for the first time as a surprise. The engine is Turkey’s first national turbofan engine; and after approximately a 2-year-long design process it has reached the prototype production stage. The TEI-TF6000 Turbofan Engine and its derivatives, which can produce a thrust up to 6,000 lb. (10,000 lb. with the afterburner), can be used in various national platforms, from airplanes to ships. The engine, which was designed to support the afterburner configuration in the current design, will be able to reach the necessary power for supersonic flights with the afterburner.”
