November 15, 2021 - The design of the TF-2000 Anti-Air Warfare is planned to be completed by the end of 2022 and the construction activities are intended to be launched subsequently. Turkish Naval Forces Naval Technical Commander Rear Admiral Ramis AKIN shared information on the project details at the 10th Naval Systems Seminar held in Ankara on 15-16 November 2021 and said, “The contract stage of the TF-2000 Anti-Air Warfare Destroyer will be finalized quite soon. The Detail Design stage and the construction activities of the prototype vessel will start shortly.”
Rear Admiral AKIN underlined that the design contract stage is about to be finalized and added, “As you also know, the timely construction of the TF-2000 Anti-Air Warfare Destroyer is quite critical for the effective operation of the LHD Anadolu. Design activities are being carried out by the Naval Technical Design Project Office Directorate. Completion of the design contract stage of the TF-2000 will take place quite shortly. Upon the finalization of the design as a result of harmonious coordination between the institutions, activities regarding the Detail Design and the first prototype vessel’s construction will be initiated. Developing the experience acquired in the construction of the National Ship, maintaining the sustainability of such capability and maximum utilization of indigenous sources are the baseline.”
