President of Defence Industry Agency Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR announced that the first Air Traffic Radar System (HTRS), developed in cooperation with ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK, was delivered to the Turkish Air Force. Initiated by the SSB, the project was implemented by ASELSAN and its subcontractors. ASELSAN developed the radar, communication and recording system while TÜBİTAK developed the software.

HTRS, an approach radar system developed for military and civil aviation purposes, will enter service at 11 airports by the end of 2024 and approach control services will be carried out with this system. Thus, Türkiye's air traffic will now be managed with a national radar system
