With European Union financing the five patrol boats built at Tuzla by Istanbul Shipyard for the Romanian Border Police are ready to undertake search and rescue, anti-terror and smuggling, patrolling and control of pollution on the Danube River. The boats will carry out their activities in four different corners of Romania. Two boats will patrol the Ukrainian border, the third boat the Moldavian border, the fourth boat the Croatian border and the fifth boat with Hungarian border.
As of November 2010, the turnkey construction was completed and after tests conducted on the boats were delivered to the Border Patrol of the Romanian Ministry of the Interior. In this way the contract signed on 13 January2010 for the project was completed and delivered in a record time.
