GÖKTÜRK Replacement Reconnaissance Surveillance Satellite System Development Project
The project aims to meet the high-resolution electro-optical satellite image needs of the Turkish Armed Forces after the service life of the GÖKTÜRK-1 Satellite System ends. The GÖKTÜRK Replacement Reconnaissance Surveillance Satellite will replace the GÖKTÜRK-1 Satellite placed in its orbit in 2016. Within the scope of the project, one satellite, one fixed ground station, one mobile ground station, and related systems/subsystems will be procured. Another goal of the project is to develop and use various equipment and software locally in Turkey. Additionally, the project intends to benefit more from space technology's opportunities, use the existing capabilities, workforce, and infrastructure in this field, and ensure the continuity of the experience and know-how.
