Tarih: Issue 101 - November 2020
September 30, 2020. A cooperation protocol between Defense and Aerospace Industry Exporters' Association (SSI) and Defense and Aviation Industry Manufacturers Association (SaSaD) was signed under the auspices of the President of Defense Industries Prof. İsmail DEMİR at a ceremony held at the Presidency of Defense Industries on September 30, 2020.
The protocol aims to take the defense and aerospace industry to a more favorable position, to find new markets for the country's defense and aviation industry products, and to increase defense industry exports by improving the existing market share.
The eight-point protocol was signed by Naki POLAT, Chairman of the Board of SSI and by Öner TEKİN, Chairman of the Board of SaSaD.
The protocol is aimed to strengthen cooperation, coordination and sharing between the SSI and SaSaD.
As part of the protocol, an executive committee will be established to identify problems and development areas relating to cooperation and to implement solution-oriented responses to help overcome challenges.
The two organizations will share unclassified information and documents they have, which will be used in studies that will contribute to the development of the industry.
SSI and SaSaD will participate in and support each other's events and will act together in determining the problems of the sector and solution proposals as well as in performing solution-oriented studies.
The two organizations will carry out joint training activities on efficient use of state incentives, getting information about new legislation changes and on informing SMEs about incentive practices. They will also share their corporate database subscriptions used for market research in their joint studies.
SSI will assign members to the committees established by SaSaD and accordingly active participation will be ensured in meetings and committee activities. In addition, the "Export and Promotion" committee established by SaSaD will be restructured under the chairmanship of SSI.
Since it is concluded that SaSaD’s membership in the AeroSpace and Defense Industries Association of Europe (ASD) is important for Turkey, a certain portion of the membership fee will be covered by SSI in order for SaSad’s continuation of membership.
SaSaD will convey information and documents to SSI management about the activities to be performed with the ASD, and SSI representatives will also attend ASD events and committee meetings.
