The international defense industry ADEX 2016 event held this year for the second time and organized by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries as the sponsor, took place in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on 27-30 September. 216 companies from 34 countries and 25 official delegations of 21 countries visited the event and Turkey was the country with the greatest number of participants once again this year. Turkey was represented with a total of 42 defense and technology companies at the event and Israel and Russia attended the event with 14 companies. The event is expanding every year with the attendance of new countries; Lithuania, Croatia, Czech Republic and Estonia participated in the event for the first time this year. The exhibition hall of the event increased 10% since the event in 2014.

Turkey was represented by the National Defense Minister Fikri Işık and the accompanied delegation at the event and the Turkish technology and defense companies and related institutions and enterprises such as SSM, TDA, Aselsan, TAI, Roketsan, Havelsan, MKEK, STM Otokar, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, BMC, Vestel Defense- AYESAŞ, MilSOFT, Katmerciler, Dearsan, SDT, Onur Engineering, Hexagon, İşbir Electronic and Ctech took part at the fair.
