MGEO Group has been structured with standards regarding military and defence industry, starting with MIL-Q-9858, then AQAP-110, AQAP-120, AQAP-2110, AQAP-160 and AS 9100. Today it has gained CMMI v1.3 (Capability Maturity Model Integration) certification.
CMMI has been adopted as a process improvement model by MGEO Group with the aims of continuous improvement in product development processes, sustainability in high-quality product development, budgeted and in-time project delivery, increase in the customer satisfaction and recognition in international defence industry, through the determination of the organization?s weaknesses and strengths.
Through the ?SCAMPI v1.3? appraisal method, firstly implemented in Turkey, the project management, engineering, process management and support functions were appraised in all disciplines under the groups of system/product development, system integration, aviation-naval and land-missile systems. During the certification process, 4203 evidences corresponding to all CMMI requirements, 356 of which are specific and 77 of which are general, were appraised under 18 process areas. SCAMPI-A appraisal has been completed following 13 sessions with the participation of project teams, managers and all functional departments.
Following the appraisal, the organizations strengths were defined; these are: highly organizational in processes, high automation in process implementation, sound team spirit, highly motivated and qualified personnel, focusing on continuous improvement of personnel and high information sharing.
Through CMMI, MGEO Group has achieved the definition and implementation of project processes in the organization, increase in the customer satisfaction by ensuring that the customer requirements are met, measurement regarding process follow-ups, re-use of experiences gained and lessons learned in new projects and implementation of systematic process improvement approach. In line with ?catching the era? approach in terms of technology, MGEO Group will continue its progress in the international aviation, space and defence industry.
