Following the announcement of AgustaWestland company as the winning firm of Turkish Assault /Tactic Discovery Helicopter (ATAK) Program tender within the frame of the decision
of Defence Industry Executive Board on 30 March 2007, the ATAK Program Contract, which was negotiated between TUSAS - Turkish Aviation and
Space Industry Inc., which is the national aviation agency assigned as the Main Contractor by the Undersecretriat of Defence Industry
(SSM) in April 2007, and ASELSAN, the national electronic organization, and the foreign ntractor
AgustaWesland. In ATAK Program, the main tractor,
TUSAS, and sub-contractors ASELSAN and Westland, has established a strong cooperation in
order to supply the required assault helicopters to the Commandership of Land Forces, in ccordance with program targets and calendar. In addition to this, a separate Cooperation
Agreement has been signed between TUSAS and AgustaWestland under the scope of ATAK Contract, towards the global market. Under the scope of ATAK Program, TUSAS, in addition to bearing the
work share as the Main Contractor on the fields of Program and Contract Management, System Integration, Production, Engineering and ntegrated Logistic Support, it has also undertaken the task of final design and performance T-129 ATAJ Helicopter for SSM.
With the Cooperation Agreement signed between TUSAS - AgustaWestland, TUSAS, in addition
to becoming a partner of the intellectual
property of the new configuration, has become the single source overall the world for all body production, including the "Final Mounting" and
"Flight Processes". TUSAS has also acquired the right to sell the helicopters to all world countries excluding Italy and the UK.
In addition to delivering a “Sovereign" system to our KKK, TUSAS, who will work together with AgustaWestland and Aselsan in ATAK Program, will
have the 3. country selling and support licenses as well as the logistic rights of the product.
