Havelsan nominated for the 2014 Productivity Project Awards with its “Software Development Environment (YGO) Project” was presented with the special jury award in the “Business Automation and Technological Innovation for Large-Scale Organisations” category. Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık presented the award to Havelsan CEO and GM Sadık Yamaç. The main objective of the Applied Lifecycle Management view that integrates the software development process and the software development tools used in this process and automates it, is to provide rapid delivery of high quality systems and applications. By automating the lifecycle processes, the YGO provides traceability of the software development process and a strong reporting capability. Furthermore, its consideration as a system and enabling its integration with other information systems are stressed as being important in terms of obtaining institutional automation.
The YGO Project, with these capabilities, takes an integrated and centrally operated infrastructure and decreases total hardware and software costs as well as the configuration and adaptation efforts spent for the company’s development environment configuration. By providing a standard development environment for product developers, tool alienation while working on more than one project is decreased and staff productivity increased. With the YGO, collecting reliable data for continuous enhancements and reporting enables the standardisation of process activities.
