JOINT EW TRAINING SIMULATOR

Objectives • To teach EW concepts via browserbased elearning software enriched with multimedia objects.

Tarih: Issue 7 - January 2008

• To teach the effects of deployment and employment of available EW assets through “customizable tactical scenarios” for Army, Air Force, Navy operations.
• To train joint forces in an interactive scenario environment (Red vs. Blue forces), and evaluating their effectiveness
• To teach new EW techniques and tactics quickly and effectively, through “user-defined” and/or “built-in” system
models.

Achievements

• Training to officers to acquire essential
level of knowledge in Electronic
Warfare both in theory and practice
• Effective planning of EW in operations
• Illustrating advantages of mutual
electronic support
• High skills in decision making both
at tactical and strategic level of EW
• Has been developed according to the
requirements of
- Turkish Armed Forces
- NATO
• Is a unique system for Armed Forces
in EW training

Training Phases
• Training Phase I: Beginner
Refreshment Training
- Fundamentals of EW Training
for trainees from different background
forces
- Browser-Based and interactive
- Complete and flexible content
- Lessons supported by multimedia
learning objects

- RF/EO EW (Electronic Support
Electronic Attack / Electronic
Protection) applications and other tactics
- 2D/3D visual support

• Training Phase II: Single Force
EW Applications Training
- Interactive simulation training
- Played against computer, single
user, single service
- RF /EO EW Applications and
Armed Forces Tactics
- Integrated EW formatted messages
- 2D Presentation (map,
radar/comms coverages, model symbols,
system displays etc...)
- 3D Presentation (3D views of
models - including IR, view of terrain
etc...)
- Adding new tactics and techniques
and evaluation methods
- Pre-defined tactics triggered by
the occurrence of user-defined events
- Evaluation of trainee.

• Training Phase III: Joint EW
Applications Training
- Interactive simulation training
- Users (trainers and trainees)
play against each other, multi-user,
multi-service
- Users can communicate to each
other by messages and voice
- C2 and Fire Control Systems act
in line with defined operational
actions, and response automatically
- Digital Maps with tactical symbology
- The steps for Training Phase II
are also applicable for Phase III
- Evaluation of trainees on the
effective use, target destruction and
protection of systems.
