Within the scope of IDEF’15 event that was held between 5-8 May 2015, a cooperation agreement for R&D activities has been signed between Safran and Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ). As part of this cooperation, Safran and Istanbul Technical University will be working collaboratively on the ceramic matrix composites that are considered as among the critical materials of the engines of the new generation aircrafts. As a result of the aforementioned cooperation and with the help of composite materials that are favored due to their mechanical and thermal resistance in addition to their lightness, contribution to an environment-friendly and fuel efficient air transportation is aimed.
