Defence Turkey: Mr. Güldoğan first of all I would like to thank you for your time. Having worked for TAI for 27 years in various positions, you have retired from the post of Manager of Strategy and Technology Management and then you have decided to take part in a new establishment and have been assigned as a General Manager at Alpteknik Aviation. Which factors brought you to Alpteknik Aviation? What would you like to tell about the objectives, developments and the vision you wish to set forth?
Firstly, I wish you success in your business life and of good quality magazine. I must say that I am quite proud to be a part of our sector’s leading company TAI family and its management team for long years and am happy to have contributed to its achievements. Then again, I am aware of the fact that a timely leave from TAI and thus letting our successors assume the task is a privilege and source of pride as much as working actively at TAI. I also believe that such changes are fertile for evaluating and managing the developments for persons as well as institutions. In my opinion, this step I took that brings improvement and change and my assignment at Alpteknik Aviation, an affiliate of the well-known and accomplished Alp Aviation, shall contribute to my knowledge, experiences, efficiency and performance and thus create a synergy. As Alpteknik Aviation, we aim to provide efficient and useful services and take part within a new approach based on systematic knowledge, experience and skills of Alp Aviation and Alpata Group in after-sales services. I am certain that this change and service approach shall contribute to our sector with aviation’s own cycle and interaction.
Defence Turkey: Could you please inform us on your services, the companies you work with and about the programs you serve as the Alpteknik Aviation as an affiliate of Alp Aviation Industries and Trade Inc.?
Alp Aviation Industries and Trade Inc. (Alpteknik Aviation) has been performing its after-sales services in aviation industry in Ankara. Alpteknik Aviation primarily aims to provide support services and solutions for the spare parts, accessories, equipment and unit maintenance and repair of high quality fixed wing aircrafts and rotorcrafts as an officially authorized distributor of Sikorsky and its affiliates HIS, Derco and LifePort companies. The institutions and companies in charge of production and maintaining and operating depot-level maintenance and renewal services of S-70 Blackhawk helicopter and its various versions that are widely being used in Turkey remain within Alpteknik Aviation’s service and support circle. Similarly, we are continuing our efforts to enable spare parts support service for Sikorsky’s S-92 VIP Helicopters that are highly credited in our country and build warehouses for them. Thus, through our efforts for differentiation, we shall take one more step towards our goal and strategy of providing cost efficient and first-class customer services in our field of activity.
Defence Turkey: After-sales services are amongst the most important factors in maximizing the customer satisfaction nowadays. Could you please mention the factors that distinguish your company from others in providing cost efficient and first-class services?
After-sales services can be defined as the support provided to the customer in general following the sales of a product. Modifications regarding spare parts, product and technical manual updates, unit maintenance/revision services and communication facilities through various sources are considered amongst such services. As you mentioned, after-sales services are considered as the most significant factor in maximizing the customer satisfaction in today’s business world. Therefore companies started to attach more importance to after-sales services rather than the sale of the product itself. As Alpteknik, we will exert our efforts to increase our customers’ satisfaction with the product with the spare parts and services we provide and reinforce image of the brand for our existing and potential clients through focusing on customer satisfaction in the upcoming period. I believe industrial and commercial activities will bear a major role in sustaining the development in defence and aviation sectors of our country. As Alpteknik, we set off with institutional, lasting and long-term goals. The support of Alp Aviation in all aspects, the OEM warranty in the services we provide, our commitment to the regulations in force, our determination in increasing customer satisfaction, the warehouse application we plan through rapid and efficient services could be considered as the features that distinguish our company.
Defence Turkey: Mr. Güldoğan, the negotiations regarding the Utility Helicopter program have been accomplished after a long process and the agreements have been awarded. Which responsibilities will you assume as Alpteknik Aviation? Could you inform us?
First of all, I would like to express my satisfaction with the award of the Utility Helicopter program that would contribute greatly to the industrialization and export goals of both our country and our sector and I wish luck and success for the program. As you know, Alp Aviation has a major business share within the scope of the program conducted by TAI as the main contractor. Alpteknik Aviation will continue to provide services to our main contractor and our users whenever demanded as the distributor of the products manufactured by Alp Aviation and for the products provided by Sikorsky during the progressive stages of this project as a company specialized in after-sales services in parallel with the applications in the world.
Defence Turkey: Sikorsky will possibly be moving the S-70i’s production line to Turkey. As Alpteknik Aviation, do you have any plans and studies regarding this case?
Turkey bears a great impact area. Our country’s exports regarding defence and aviation products are increasing each year. In addition to all these developments, when the proven performance of S-70 helicopters are considered, it would not be wrong to assume that the Blackhawk helicopters manufactured in Turkey would go beyond the figures determined with the existing contract and take the opportunity to have a greater market and thus higher figures of export. Within this context, Alpteknik Aviation’s field of activity and responsibilities would increase as well. We take such projections into consideration in our long-term plans and prepare ourselves accordingly.
Defence Turkey: In addition to your position at Alpteknik Aviation, you are also the Ankara representative of Alp Aviation Company. What would you like to tell about your goals and objectives?
In its modern facilities of 25.000 square meters in Eskişehir Organized Industry Zone, Alp Aviation manufactures critical/rotating components, assemblies and sub-systems for the aerospace industry under high quality, engineering and production standards. In an atmosphere where customers’ expectations regarding timely delivery, quality and cost-efficiency, Alp Aviation competes successfully through its efficient and lean manufacturing operations with high quality, engineering and test infrastructure and continues its cooperation in programs with the world’s leading companies of the sector and contributes to the employment, added value and export figures of the sector. Within the scope of the new projects launched, Alp Aviation will continue its development and growth and increase the size of its facilities to 50,000 square meters in the next two years. Eskişehir bears a growing potential in defence and aviation however both our related institutions and main contractors are located in Ankara and Alp Aviation has to have a strong connection with Ankara. With this understanding and approach as well as with the close cooperation and support of Alp Aviation’s management, I have been conducting Ankara representation of Alp Aviation in addition to my current post in Alpteknik. Following the recession period we went through in the past and in an environment where we expect increase in demands for the defence and aerospace products and cooperation in the region as well as whole world, we aim to stand by our main contractors -mainly TUSAŞ/TAI- both in local and international projects with Alp Aviation’s improving engineering and manufacturing infrastructure.
Defence Turkey: Mr. Güldoğan, we would like to wish you success in your new assignment. Lastly, what are your remarks for the readers of Defence Turkey?
I consider myself very lucky for working in this sector. There are promising developments for the increase in cooperation at our sector. As Alp Aviation and Alpteknik Aviation, we are determined to fulfill our tasks in order to convert the advantages created by the synergy into results. I would like to thank you and your magazine for your time and wish you success.
