Global leader in the area of interconnection, Amphenol covers the entire world thanks to its 85 operationally independent units spread over the 5 continents. Amphenol Air LB France, one of the French subsidiaries, was acquired in 2000 by the group. It is located since 1958 in the Ardennes, North-East of France, close to the Belgian and Luxembourgish borders. The company specializes in composite rectangular electrical connectors.
Having operated on high demanding and flourishing markets, Amphenol Air LB was rewarded for its efforts with a sustained growth: its turnover increased to €  52 mln in 2013 from € 19 mln in 2000, exports accounting for 50 % of it, which rendered inadequate its current premises.
To support its business growth, the company invested € 11 mln in the construction of a new plant, still in the Ardennes, in order to consolidate its activities and extend its surface of more than 50%. The total surface is now 8 500 m², with the possibility to extend it even more.
Thanks to the support of the French public authorities as well as the European Union in this investment, Amphenol Air LB will recruit more than 50 people in the short term to reinforce its team.
The company completely moved into its new premises last August 2014, without stopping taking orders. The production line was halted for 5 days only, deliveries ceased only for 3. The operation was almost transparent for its customers.
