4 training sets of Amphibious Assault Bridge, delivered to Land Forces Command in September 2011, were subjected to challenging durability tests for land and sea tasks during 10 months and succeeded such tests.

A Test Control Center was established in Şereflikoçhisar, comprising engineers, technical consultants, vehicle operators and supervisors from Land Forces Command. The tests were conducted uninterruptedly between June 2011 and April 2012 under challenging conditions during summer and winter seasons.

FNSS SavunmaSistemleri A.Ş. officials stated that the aim of the tests is to determine the reliability, availability and sustainability values of the SYHK System which is to be included in the inventory of Land Forces Command; as well as to determine programmed or non-programmed maintenance requirements during its life-cycle.

Within the scope of such tests, total of 15.000 km was driven out through off-road, stabilized and on-road stages at the test track at Şereflikoçhisar, the ratios of which were determined by the Design Department. 180-hour water task was also accomplished in KesikköprüDam Lake and FNSS Test Dock with and without Armored Combat Vehicle.

In the tests where the Design Department made assessments under realistic conditions, the necessary improvement fields were determined according to daily recorded data, in order to apply on the vehicles to be mass-manufactured. At the end of the durability test, all necessary information related with the maintenance and operation of SYHK System throughout its life-cycle would be submitted to the Land Forces Command.

SYHK system, which is the first indigenously developed system in land vehicle sector and has a concept similar to 8X8 Pars wheeled armored vehicle developed by FNSS, is able to ensure the secure crossing of all military loads primarily the main battle tank to the opposite shore during river crossing operations with its shipping tools and bridge configurations.

Having both land and water mobility, SYHK is able to reach the speed of 100 km/hour at land. With its 500-horsepower water jets, it is able to reach nearly 20 km/hour in water. Resembles like a truck on land, it turns out to be a vessel in the water by retracting its wheels. It has an overall length of 12 meters, width of 4 meters and height of 3.5 meters. During river crossing operations, it turns out to be a bridge by laying together like the cuts of a jigsaw puzzle. Two SYHK vehicles are able to cross and carry 100-tone load by establishing a 20-meter bridge.

Being under mass production phase, 52 SYHK vehicles are planned to be delivered to the Land Forces Command.
