Anova: A Solution Partner of Defence Industries
This year is Anova Engineering’s 10th anniversay year. Founded as a Computer Aided Engineering company in Istanbul, it now serves its clients in different industries including Defence & Aerospace, Automotive, White Goods and Turbomachinery industries with its offices at three major cities- Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir.
Anova has always been a reliable sub-contractor and partner to the Defence Industry since the day it was founded. Having taken assignments in many prestigious projects such as Aselsan’s TAKS, TAI’s ANKA and Hürkuş, FNSS’s SYHK, TUBITAK SAGE’s SOM, Anova has continuously extended its capabilities and grown in number of employees. Realizing the importance of low turnover rates, Anova tries to maintain its experienced workforce, which brought the honour of receiving 3 patents and completing successfully more than 150 projects. Apart from providing the design and engineering consultancy services, Anova was awarded by several well-known engineering analyses software firms like ANSYS, Ricardo, Concepts NREC and Flowmaster the title of the Turkish Channel Partner due to its success in software sales and quality of after-sales support. In addition, Anova is the only company so far being awarded with the "Exceptional Business Growth Achievement Award" by Fluent three times and "Territorial Channel Partner of the Year Award" by ANSYS twice in a row.
With a strategic decision made in 2009, Anova has started its evolution to become a preferred subcontractor in Defence and Aerospace with design, engineering analyses, manufacturing and test capabilities. After several challenging projects and inspection procedures, Anova has been nominated to be one of the very few companies "Authorized Subcontractor in Design" by Aselsan. Further growth is under progress now with the foundation of a manufacturing and prototype workshop at Saraykent, Ankara. With this facility, Anova will be able to manufacture the components it designs within rather than outsourcing.
Turbomachinery is a key area for Anova. Having designed several engine cooling fans, water circulation pumps, ventilation fans, submersible pumps and hydraulic turbines, Anova is now projecting its turbomachinery design capabilities into other defence applications. Therefore, turbocharger design for the National Powerpack Development Project, Ram Air Turbine design for airborne pods, Turbopump design for Liquid Fuel Rocket Engines, Fuel Pump and Alternator Design for UAVs are several potential projects for the near future where Anova could deliver value added services in the design, analyses and manufacturing of these systems.
Turbocharger design consists of several design challenges. Anova hosted a "Turbocharger Design Seminar" on November 20th 2012, in Istanbul and invited the world renowned design expert Dr. Nicholas C. Baines from Concepts NREC, to conduct a thorough training to an audience of more than 40 attendees.
Anova has been partners with Concepts NREC for 10 years. This long running cooperation allows Anova to use the design software they develop and thereby enables Anova to be ready to take part in the design phase of a turbocharger for a 1,500 HP Turbo-Diesel engine, being able to take all the risks and face challenges.
Similarly, with the recent addition of several internal combustion engine design and development experts with more than 35 combined years of U.S. and European work experience to its ranks, Anova is now in a position to take various assignments in the National Powerpack project.
