ASELSAN is at its 35th Year
On the 35th anniversary of its founding, ASELSAN, as the leading organization in the Turkish defense industry, visited Atatürk’s Mausoleum with its 3,800 employees.
The chairman of the Board of Directors of ASELSAN, Lt. General (R) Mehmet Çavdaroğlu together with managers and employees paid their respect at Atatürk’s Mausoleum. Leaving a wreath at the Mausoleum, Lt. General (R) Çavdaroğlu after standing in silence, signed the special ledger at Anıtkabir.
Lt. General (R) Çavdaroğlu wrote the following in the special ledger:
“Eminent Atatürk,
On the 35th anniversary of our founding, we are once again here at your presence with pride. Founded with the purpose to “Equip the Turkish Armed Forces with materials and ordnances with the most advanced technology and in this regard to reduce to a minimum foreign dependence,” ASELSAN continues its work to this end with success as the leading organization of the Turkish defence industry.
“Within your directive of “Attaining the level of contemporary civilizations,” ASELSAN, through its efforts having become one of the 100 largest defense industry companies in the world, will continue its work with added speed and determination to be among the leading companies in this area. We submit that we will continue on the path you have shown with greater belief and bow with respect in your presence.”
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of ASELSAN, the concert at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Hall brought together officials from the Turkish defence industry. In the concert by the CSO conducted by the Chef Rengim Gökmen well liked musicpieces were played for the audience. In the evening, state artist İdil Biret’s participation added color to the event.
The event was participated by the Minister of National Defence M. Vecdi Gönül, the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces Command General Bekir Kalyoncu, the Undersecretary for Defence Industries Mr. Murad Bayar, officials of ASELSAN and guests from other defense industry companies. ASELSAN’s Chairman Lt. General (R) Çavdaroğlu thanked the participants and presented a placket to the CSO conductor Gökmen.
