Blackseafor Accomplished in Five Phases
Activities concerning the Black Sea Naval Force established in 2001 with Turkey’s initiation and with the participation of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russian Federation and Ukraine for increasing the regional cooperation activities and developing good neighbor relations within the framework of efforts for sustainable peace and stability in Black Sea, have been organized this year in two terms; April and August. The second stages of activities were held between 14 August and 03 September 2013 in Sevastopol-Ukraine, Novorossisk-Russia and Sinop-Turkey harbors in five stages.
Minesweeper “BGS Priboy” from Bulgaria, Romanian “ROS C.A Eustatiu Sebastian” corvette, “RFS Bora” assault boat from the Russian Federation, “TCG Turtgutreis” frigate of Turkey and “UPS Slavutych” command and control boat from Ukraine attended the Blackseafor task group activities that have been accomplished with the participation of five countries having coasts on Black Sea.
Participant Countries’ Naval Forces – Search and Rescue Trainings, Nautical Tactical Maneuver and warfare trainings were given within the scope of Blackseafor activities. The “Computer Based Warfare System (FORESC)” developed within the framework of the Blackseafor Task Group studies by Turkish Naval Forces Command and TÜBİTAK personnel was used.
The command of Blackseafor currently conducted by the Ukrainian Naval Forces is periodically altered and assumed by the countries having coasts on the Black Sea.
