BMC: EXPORT LEADER IN TURKISH LAND PLATFORMS SECTOR
BMC, one of Turkey's leading military and commercial vehicle manufacturers, maintained its leadership in Turkish Defence Industry Land Vehicle Exports in 2023, according to data published by the Defence and Aerospace Industry Exporters Association (SSI).
BMC ranked first among Turkish land vehicle manufacturers in 2023, accounting for 52% of the total exports of Turkish land platforms sector.
The success of BMC, which has been the land vehicle export leader for two consecutive years, is not limited to the high-quality military vehicles it produces. BMC also invests heavily in R&D activities with its dedicated engineers. In this way, BMC maintains its leading position in land vehicles by continuously producing innovative solutions.
BMC is increasing its effectiveness not only in Turkey but also in the international market. Exports to various regions in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe prove the effectiveness of BMC and the Turkish defence industry worldwide. BMC, which produces military vehicles with high protection at NATO standards, has become a preferred brand in the international arena, meeting the military vehicle requirements of many countries.

KİRPİ 4x4 with Independent Suspension stands out with its unibody armored cabin and special armored windshields, shock-absorber seats, weapon station, and the emergency exit hatch, not to mention numerous pieces of task-oriented equipment integrated specifically (e.g., CBRN protection system, automatic fire extinguisher system, crew compartment, A/C system, run-flat tire, CTIS, Smoke grenade launchers, gun-shot detection system, Jammer, intercom system, Siren Announcement System, interference-dampening system, self-recovery winch), and the custom-design version with the interrogation arm (robotic arm) for explosive detection and disposal. KİRPİ also has different configurations, such as Ambulance, Cargo, or Explosive Ordnance Disposal vehicles.
VURAN 4x4 Multi-Purpose Armored Vehicle
The VURAN 4x4, a member of the Multi-Purpose Armored Vehicle family developed by BMC, stands out with its 9-person carrying capacity, high protection, and mobility. Featuring a monocoque armored cabin and windows, blast-mitigating seats, and an emergency exit, it provides protection against mine and ballistic threats (STANAG 4569). The VURAN is equipped with front and rear cameras, an automatic fire suppression system (for personnel compartment, engine compartment, external parts, and tires), a CBRN protection system, fog lamps, cable-cutting arms, and A/C climate control (heating and cooling). Additionally, the VURAN 4x4's mobility is enhanced with a central tire inflation system and has a "Run-Flat" capability thanks to its solid disc system within the tires. It reaches a maximum speed of 110 km/h on asphalt and has a range of 600 km. The VURAN 4x4 features a fully automatic transmission, 40 cm ground clearance, an independent suspension system, and ABS-supported hydraulic disc brakes, enabling it to operate in various challenging terrains. Capable of climbing 60% gradients, holding onto 30% side slopes, and fording depths of up to 80 cm, the VURAN 4x4 ensures maneuverability across diverse landscapes.
The VURAN 4x4 vehicles are also equipped with the ASELSAN SARP Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS). Combining precise reconnaissance capabilities with effective firepower to meet battlefield needs and protect critical facilities, the SARP RCWS can be employed against aerial and ground threats by tactical armored vehicles and used against asymmetric threats in fixed installations. Depending on operational requirements, the system can be fitted with a 12.7 mm machine gun, 40 mm grenade launcher, or 7.62 mm machine gun.
AMAZON 4x4 Multi-purpose Armored Vehicle
AMAZON, which has high maneuverability, can reach a range of 800 km and a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. With a maximum payload weight of 16 tons, the vehicle can be manned by 7 personnel. AMAZON, which has ballistic, mine, and improvised explosive protection, provides deterrence with its remote-controlled weapon station. The vehicle has standard equipment such as fire extinguishing and air conditioning systems, a cold climate package, puncture repair, and a central tire inflation system. The vehicle is also equipped with mission equipment such as a self-rescue crane, siren announcement system, fog mortar, and internal speech system.
ALTUĞ 8x8 IFV & APC
The ALTUĞ 8x8 Armored Combat Vehicle (with different gun turrets such as 20/25/30/35 mm) and Armored Personnel Carrier (with 12.7-mm gun turret) have been designed to meet all the requirements of the conventional and asymmetric battlefield in its class. The vehicles stand out with their superior features in every aspect, which were determined by evaluating the most up-to-date user requirements, mission concepts, threats, technology and trends, and the capabilities of existing domestic and foreign vehicles in this market. Capable of carrying all types of weapons from 7.62 mm to 105 mm, ALTUĞ offers superior protection against mines and improvised explosive devices. ALTUĞ can carry a payload of up to 8 tones. With its detachable and replaceable vehicle roof concept, ALTUĞ offers 'multi-tasking capability on a single platform' and has advanced maneuverability thanks to its 4-axle steering.
ALTAY Main Battle Tank
Within the scope of the project carried out by BMC to meet the modern tank requirement of the Turkish Armed Forces with domestic and national capabilities, many parts of the New ALTAY tank, which has been equipped with the most modern technologies and additional capabilities in line with today's battlefield conditions, have been indigenized. Among the new capabilities brought to the new ALTAY tank are the active protection system, improved armor system, upgraded fire control system, upgraded vehicle control system, replaced power pack, and many indigenized subsystems. The new Altay tank is also planned to be brought together with the BATU powepack, produced completely by BMC Power with domestic capabilities, to strengthen Turkey's land defence system
