As a non-lethal industrial leader over the world, the Brazilian CONDOR is in full international expansion.  Present in more than 45 countries, the company starts now towards new challenges, such as gaining the Asian market. For this purpose, the company settled offices in Singapore. CONDOR has also chosen to open a regional office in Abu Dhabi, “so as to stay closer and better suit its major customers in the Middle East and also expand our way into this market”, says Condor´s CEO, Paulo Amorim.
Thus, the company´s expectation is to expand the sales volume of products, such as rubber bullets, SPARK Electronic Control Device, Tear gas ammunition, among other technologies in the foreign market. In relation to 2015, CONDOR plans to export 60% of its annual revenue; a way found by the company to circumvent the domestic downturn and continue growing.
CONDOR´s success can be largely explained by the fact that the company has the biggest non-lethal product portfolio over the world, with more than 120 items, making it available to the defense and security forces a wide range of equipment and ammunition and enabling them to implement the proportional application of force, proposed by the United Nations over 20 years ago. It is no coincidence that the UN itself acquires Condor´s NON-LETHAL technologies to be used by the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces. Ammunition conceived and developed by CONDOR with a main purpose: to preserve lives. This is in fact the company´s philosophy.
“To become the market leader is always a hard battle. We built our history based on the excellence, innovation and quality of our products”, says Carlos Erane Aguiar, President of Condor´s Board of Directors.
Pioneer in the implementation of the non-lethal concept in Brazil and in the world, Condor is celebrating, in 2015, 30 years of steady growth, with figures that show its projection. The plant is located in an area of a million sqm alongside the Biological Reserve of Tinguá (the biggest reserve of Atlantic Rainforest in the State of Rio de Janeiro), in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro. The company has 700 employees. Last year it got a turnover of 35% bigger, in comparison to 2013, and now it invests heavily in the automation of its production line. The purpose is to gain agility, optimize the work, improve quality and better meet the increased demand.
“Condor is increasingly consolidating its position as a global reference when we talk about non-lethal concept and respect for life”, says CEO Paulo Amorim.
New generation of Spark
Condor is preparing to launch the second generation of its SPARK electric control device.  The company expects that it gets into the market next July/August, being a new and efficient non-lethal weapon available to the security forces to ensure law and order.
The company is also known for its wide experience in the development of tear gas ammunition, successfully used by police and armed forces from many countries in the world – include Turkish Forces for whom thecompany has developedtailored made products- for riot control, special operations, homeland security, peacekeeping operations, etc.
“One example is that we are strongly present in the Midle East and Northen Africa, with our full range of non-lethal products.” says TawfiqGhadban, Commercial Manager of Condor for this region.
Such technologies were used to ensure safety and security at Brazil’s World Cup and will be also available to the Brazilian polices at the 2016 Olympic Games.
The non-lethal weapons are widely used for controlling disturbances of all kinds, and the understanding of the non-lethal concept has allowed that the law enforcement officials all over the world be provided with more sophisticated equipment, making  operations both police and the armed forces safer and more effective.
