FNSS Defence Systems Attended the 2nd R&D Centers Summit

R&D Centers Summit and Exhibition 2013 was held at Istanbul Congress Center under the auspices of Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology’s Science and Technology General Directorate.
Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Mr. Nihat Ergün accomplished the opening of the summit that was organized for exhibition of works of R&D Centers, revision and sharing of outcomes, informing and creating awareness.
FNSS Displayed R&D Projects
FNSS displayed the R&D Projects accomplished within last 15 years at the exhibition and company’s R&D Director and design engineers extended detailed information on the projects to the visitors. 
On the first day of the Summit, FNSS’ R&D activities and related accomplishments have been presented by FNSS’ General Manager and CEO Mr. Kadir Nail Kurt to Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Mr. Nihat Ergün and to the accompanying delegation. 
FNSS’ R&D Center 
With its “R&D Center Certificate” dated 2009 FNSS owns an R&D Center in an indoor area of 4000 m² at company’s facilities in Ankara-Gölbaşı and 160 personnel is employed at this center. In addition to developing new systems, sub-systems, material and components with its capacities in international and military standards FNSS conducts technology and process development studies regarding products and manufacturing at the center. Within this respect, all studies and works conducted by the company on resource technologies, aluminum material technologies, protection against corrosion, ballistic material production processes are being executed via this R&D Center. 
FNSS’ R&D Projects of Last Seven Years
Mobile Amphibious Assault Bridge (SYHK): Being Turkey’s very first indigenous land vehicle design and development project, SYHK has a trail bridge and bridge system that could enable the fast and safe passage from aquatic spaces during combats.  
Kunduz Amphibious Armored Combat Earthmover (Azmim): Mainly operated by 1 operator and 1 crew the amphibious, armored and tracked earthmover Kunduz, different from standard earthmovers has the capacity to increase its weight when required in order to enhance its operating capacity and thus gain the ability to pick ballast from soil to ballast pan and discharge this ballast at the end of the operation. 
Pars 6x6 TTZA: With its highest wheel-drive capacity and lowest turning radius, Pars 6x6 stands out as a tactical wheeled armored combat vehicle with most developed technologies, designed for usage in low and high intensity combat fields that provides strategic advantages to its user. 
As 13-month-long R&D Project, which was supported by TUBITAK and was accomplished in the first quarter of 2011, Pars 6x6 was selected among 500 projects as one of the best five projects, supported by TUBITAK within last 10 years period, considering its outcomes and national achievements in an assessment made by TUBITAK.
Pars 6x6 TTZA’s 8x8 version AV8 composed of 12 task configurations shall be serving the Malaysian Army with its fleet of 257 vehicles soon. 
Pençe Remote Controlled Turret (UKK): An unmanned turret was realized in a Project conducted within the framework of a joint product-development protocol with Aselsan.
