Marine Assault Vehicle Gets Stronger With CAKA
CAKA Remote Controlled Turret (RCT) system is designed by FNSS, within the scope of the Turkish Navy’s Marine Armored Amphibious Vehicle Program that was signed between the Turkish Presidency for Defense Industries (SSB) and FNSS on March 7, 2017. The turret will be exhibited on the Marine Assault Vehicle (MAV) during IDEF 2021. CAKA is developed to be the firepower of MAV, with its ability to carry a maximum load of ready-to-fire rounds, and it is also ballistic protected. CAKA RCT, which stands out with its corrosion resistance and sealing at the highest level, can be used safely in all weather and sea conditions.
Compared to similar manned turrets in service with US Marine Corps’ Amphibious Vehicles, FNSS CAKA RWS offers greater advantages with its; lightweight, better protection for the gunner, target acquisition, reliability, accuracy, and occupies less internal volume inside the vehicle. CAKA RWS is power operated and armed with 12.7mm MG (50 Cal) & 40mm AGL (Automatic Grenade Launcher). The remote turret can be easily integrated into various manned and unmanned ground vehicles as well as naval surface vessels.
SANCAK RCT, Light Caliber Firepower for Land Platforms
Designed within the scope of FNSS's PARS III 8x8 and 6x6 export project and first entered the inventory of the Oman Armed Forces, SANCAK Remote Controlled Turret (RCT) system also constitutes the main firepower of the PARS IV 6x6 Special Operations Vehicle, which will be delivered to Turkish Armed Forces within the scope of the Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV) Procurement Project. The turret is distinguished from its predecessors because the entire system is ballistic protected, including the ammunition boxes. Two SANCAK turret systems located at the front and rear of the PARS IV 6x6 Special Operations Vehicle will be exhibited together with the vehicle at IDEF 2021.
SANCAK is a remote-controlled weapon system that can be equipped with a 12.7 mm / .50 caliber machine gun, 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, and 7.62 mm machine gun thanks to its universal gun mount. SANCAK has been designed to provide effective firepower for all types of armoured or unarmoured, manned or unmanned land platforms and tactical vehicles. It is an ideal weapon system for close fire support, vehicle protection, and surveillance missions when necessary.
Turkish Navy's Marine Assault Vehicle; "FNSS MAV"
The Armoured Amphibious Marine Assault Vehicle (MAV) is developed within the scope of the Presidency of Defence Industries project to meet the amphibious armoured vehicle needs of the Turkish Naval Forces Command. MAV will be exhibited at IDEF2021. FNSS will deliver a total of 27 vehicles, 23 of which are personnel carriers, 2 of which are command and control vehicles, and 2 of which are rescue vehicles. The engineering development activities were completed, and the qualification phase has begun. The first vehicle will be delivered within 2021 after completing the qualification tests. The project will be completed in 2022.
During the past two years, many engineering tests and subsystem qualifications have been successfully completed with the prototype vehicle, such as durability, performance at sea, performance on land, self-righting, which are rehearsals of the qualification tests to be carried out with the Presidency of Defence Industries and Navy. MAV has higher ballistic and mine protection compared to its counterparts and is equipped with today's most advanced mission equipment.
MAV outperforms its peers in terms of.
Number of personnel to be transported in the vehicle,
Ballistic and mine protection levels and
Performance criteria to be met on land and in water.
Being the fastest amphibious vehicle that entered the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, MAV will have all the features and capabilities of both a military land vehicle and a military marine vessel by balancing the land and sea requirements
