Havelsan President and CEO Mr. Ahmet Hamdi Atalay: “We expect the companies to become ‘indispensable’”
Havelsan General Manager & CEO Mr.Ahmet Hamdi Atalay reminded that they have been working with the vision of creating a business eco-system at Havelsan and stated that they aimed to reach the targets they determined through inorganic growth in the business eco-system and continued, “While reaching the 1.5 billion USD turnover target, that we identified for ourselves for the year 2023, we see that Havelsan will be in need of 6000 personnel with a rough estimation in order to reach its target business potential. But we aim to reach this target through our business eco-system instead of our own personnel. We believe that through our business eco-system we will be growing more rapidly, become more competitive and fulfil our gap”. Speaking of the infrastructure Havelsan established through its business eco-system model, Mr.Atalay continued, “Currently the companies applying through our website are being evaluated by an independent auditing company as per our criteria. With the results obtained from this assessment, the companies are being subject to the calculation of scores. Currently there are 160 companies in our business eco-system. 68 of these companies’ evaluations have been completed. As a result of this study, we are evaluating our business partner candidates through objective and already established criteria according to their categories. We envision this systematic approach to become a model in the defense industry and create a resource. The business eco-system is one of our most important breakthroughs and we are proud to be offering this structure to the service of our Undersecretariat for Defense Industries as well. Through the memorandum of understanding we signed today, we are carrying our cooperation with one of our leading companies Bites to the next level. We expect our companies to become ‘indispensable’ for us. By this means, whenever we need cooperation in a certain area, we wish to know the correct addresses and progress strategically.”
General Manager of Bites Mr. Uğur Coşkun: “Strategic Cooperation will return as gains to our country”
General Manager of Bites Mr. Uğur stated that the cooperation agreement they signed with Havelsan was the crowning of a cooperation that has been successfully conducted for years and continued, “In 2005 we took our initial step in the defense and aerospace industry with one of Europe’s greatest Helicopter Simulator Projects HELSİM and we have been included into Havelsan’s business eco-system. The cooperation launched through this project has gained strength with many successful, cost-effective projects focusing on customer satisfaction and reached to its current status. As our Minister of National Defense Mr. Fikri Işık also pointed out, we fully believe that the strategic cooperation in such dimensions will be returning to our country as gains. As the Bites family, we are proud and happy to generate solutions for Havelsan - which we have been providing services for in numerous projects for 11 years - in the areas it requires assistance today, as in the past, and we act together with Havelsan in our joint business areas.”
