Havelsan Gains Momentum in the Global Market
The first product of the Submarine Data Distribution System (DBDS) that is among the 3 project packages within the scope of the New Type Submarine Programme undertaken by Havelsan was shipped to Bremen, Germany to be delivered to ATLAS Electronics Company. System tests between the DBDS and other submarine systems will be run at the facilities of ATLAS Electronics Company in Bremen in the upcoming period.
Project with Innovation and Creativity Award
DBDS, known as the third member of the Vessel Data Distribution Systems product family manufactured as a result of the indigenous design studies of the Havelsan engineers, won the TESID Innovation Creativity competition in 2012 and was patented in 2013. DBDS was completely manufactured through national resources from design to integration and the domestic participation rate reached 70% in Submarine Information Distribution Systems. Moreover, since they will be utilised in a special environment in the submarine, the production of all the system cabinets were realised with the participation of the local industry.
Havelsan Engineers’ Contribution to Domestic Production
The Submarine Data Distribution System is recognized as one of the three project packages accomplished by Havelsan within the scope of the New Type (CERBE) Class Submarine programme considered as one of Turkey’s most important defence projects. DBDS project covers the system production of seven sets composed of systems for 6 submarines and for 1 Land Based Test Environment.
Within the scope of the aforementioned submarine project, Havelsan assumed the work packages for the development of the Combat Management System and Mk 48 Torpedo integration in cooperation with the ATLAS Company. The aforementioned submarines are produced with the Air-Independent Propulsion technology and when their production is completed, the critical functions such as the Combat Management, Information Distribution and Torpedo Fire Control Systems will have the Havelsan brand on them.
