Havelsan Signed MoU with Polish Stocznia Gdynia Naval Shipyard

Havelsan signed a MoU with Stocznia Gdynia Naval Shipyard to collaborate on modernization and new ship building programs for Poland. The agreement was signed at the MSPO 2013, in Kielce Poland.
Under the agreement, Havelsan and Stocznia Gdynia Naval Shipyard expect to develop a long-term relationship to jointly serve in the area of naval programs. The ongoing excellent relation between the governmental authorities of Turkey and Poland has resulted in this collaboration agreement. 
Regarding the agreement signed, Havelsan’s General Manager Sadık Yamaç said “In 2004, within the scope of the modernization of the frigates in Turkey, we  developed a Ship Integrated Combat Management System namely the “Genesis” and applied this system to 8 frigates of Turkish Naval Forces. Thus we increased the life, the operating time of Turkish Naval Forces’ frigates 25 years more. As we believed we could use our capacity in this Project as well, we entered this market. Our officials have been efficiently working in this market for 1,5 years and Stocznia Gdynia Naval Shipyard has a great capability in this matter too. It is a great expert in manufacturing ships. As a result of these talks, we have signed an agreement on joining our capacities and capabilities in manufacturing ships and in the modernization of their frigates”. Yamaç mentioned that Poland had unique conditions and added “We own the technology we produce and therefore I believe we have an advantage in transferring and gaining technology. This shall also provide us an advantage in the Polish market”. 
Havelsan as a software developer and a system integrator competent in Turkey has been planning to contribute to Polish Defence sector by its state-of-art technologies in Command & Control Systems. Havelsan is a company who has been developing all software in house by engineers of Havelsan which allows the technology  transfer to the local companies in Poland Available.
