The second prototype of “Hürkuş” New Generation Basic Trainer Aircraft designed and produced by TAI accomplished its maiden flight on September 10, 2014.
The flight was launched at 07:47, conducted at an altitude of 8500 feet andwith a speed of 140 knots, successfully ended at 08:03. The testing activities of the second aircraft will continue within the scope of the Project with the first aircraft that accomplished its 85th flight.
Performing its first flight on September 10th,the second prototype of “Hürkuş” realized a total of 6 flight-hours in 6 sorties. During the tests performed so far; 25.000 ft altitude and 234 knot speed values have been tested.
First Prototype Continues its Flights
As of the beginning of October, the first prototype performed 105 flight-hours in 96 sorties.  These flights were testedat an altitude of 15.000 ft with a speed of 295 knots. In 96 sorties performed so far, tests related to the flight system over the aircraft, communication and air navigation tests, stability and control checks, air data system calibration checks and high-lows peed tests were conducted. With the second prototype becoming ready for flights, the test process will continue with the both prototypes. During future test procedures, tests related to the performance of the air craft and flight maneuvers have been planned.
Flight tests in 500 sorties of “Hürkuş-A” Configuration, thuccessfully performed its maiden flight on August 29, 2013 are planned to be completed in the last quarter of 2015.
Following the completion of thetests, “Hürkuş-A” civil version New Generation Basic Trainer Aircraft’s Civil Type Certification will be expected to be accomplished in January 2016.
