İşbir; Turkey’s Leader in Alternator and Generator Manufacturing from Past to Present

İşbir Elektrik Sanayi A.Ş was established in Balıkesir in 1977 with just 500 thousand TL capital, under the partnership of the workers employed abroad and started its activities in 1978. Inspired from the concept of the association of the workers when taking its name, the İşbir Elektrik Sanayi A.Ş has been conducting indigenous alternator production that it started with the Hitzinger license in 1981 – 1984 under the İşbir brand since 1984. İşbir Elektrik Sanayi A.Ş. joined the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) in 1988 and currently 99.86 % of its capital belongs to this foundation. As per 2016 figures, İşbir Elektrik San. A.Ş. conducts its design, development, production, test, installation, sales, certification, qualification and logistical support activities with its 107 personnel consisting of qualified and expert engineers and technicians over a 32.000 m2’ factory area composed of 12.000 m² indoors and 20.000 m² outdoors compartments.
İşbir is the one and only company manufacturing alternators with power levels and features in line with the technical specifications and up to 2000 kVA. The company became one of the accomplished companies that manufacture an alternator of its own design in power ranging from 10 kVA and 2000 kVA and providing most domestic participation rate from past to present. Having always assumed the role of a pioneer in generator production, İşbir adopted the policy of maintaining the quality of its products in the highest level by utilizing the best craftsmanship and equipment and by avoiding the usage of Far Eastern materials.
Conducting activities within the scope of the production of alternators, generators, convertors, generator sets (synchronous asynchronous) and switchboards, İşbir achieved the status of becoming a model in Turkey in respect to generator production in particular. Especially with synchronous and dual switchboards as well as marine alternators, mobile systems and the technology and infrastructure related to the aforementioned components, İşbir continues to exist as a pioneer for other companies.
İşbir carries out the production of its alternators at its facilities with experienced expert personnel and in line with the determined quality standards. Focused on developing its capabilities regarding alternator generation ever since its establishment, İşbir accelerated its activities in R&D and mechanization and modernization activities in the areas of power and alternator areas. The single generator manufacturer with its own alternator test laboratory in Turkey, as a result of the R&D studies conducted within its own facilities, İşbir develops voltage regulators and rotating diode sets and utilizes them in its own alternators. Executing the tests in the products it generates and conducting studies for developing its test infrastructure, İşbir has a load bank of 2.000 kVA for testing purposes and the test system operates with sea water in order to test its products for the naval platforms. İşbir holds various testing devices utilized in various test and measurements and continues the procurement processes in a manner to support its activities in this area without slowing its pace.
İşbir Aims to Increase Export Share in its Turnover to 15% in the Upcoming Period
İşbir Elektrik Sanayii A.Ş. aims to increase its market share over 6 percent in Turkey by the year 2020 with its innovative and high value added products and to become one of the top four companies in the sector. İşbir intends to increase the export share in its overall turnover to a minimum of 15 % within the same period. In light of the experiences gained up to date, in addition to the military vessel generators produced; it is planned to procure the generators of the civil vessels of both domestic and foreign companies by İşbir.  
İşbir Elektrik Sanayii A.Ş., adopting a vision of contributing directly to the country’s economy and national defense with its technical staff and know-how accumulation by leading the production and development of power systems in Turkey’s geography, it crowned its high quality products with the quality awards and certificates it received. İşbir claims to become the warrantor of the uninterrupted power required by modern society with its high quality production, effective and continuous sales, rapid after sales service support. İşbir uninterruptedly responds to the demands and needs with its dealers in seven regions all around the country along with its authorized maintenance and repair services. Moreover, İşbir provides after sales support services to its foreign customers.
Besides the ongoing projects it currently conducts, İşbir continues to negotiate with various countries and performs market research for both its military and industrial type projects as well as marine type generator projects. In addition to the countries it conducts export activities with, İşbir aims to enter different international markets and to promote İşbir products in the best way possible. Ground systems and generator groups of all the Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV) utilized by the Turkish Armed Forces are manufactured by İşbir Elektrik Sanayi A.Ş.  
Within the scope of the production of Unmanned Air Vehicle Generator Groups;
Production of 2x40 kVA automatic and synchronous generator systems for ground control stations developed for the ANKA-S UAV Program under TAI’s - another venture of TSKGV- contractor ship continues.
Savronik Anka-S UAV Ground Systems Generator Group
Four sets of 17.5 kVA dual, mobile and automatic generators used in the ground systems of “Karayel” Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) produced by Vestel Savunma Company are manufactured by İşbir as well.
Bayraktar UAV Project Generator Group 
The 8 sets of 2X26 kW dual, mobile and automatic generators used in Tactical class “Bayraktar TB2” Unmanned Air Vehicle’s (UAV) ground systems manufactured by Baykar Makina Company are produced by İşbir.
