Masttech, which designs and manufactures masts and mast accessories for the defense and aviation industry, has become a 100 percent local and national company. Masttech's Turkish partner MolekulAS Group acquired the shares of its other partner, the US-based Will-Burt company, and became the sole owner of the company. The acquisition process, which began last February, was completed on May 20 with the signing of mutual signatures. Koray GÖKALP, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MolekulAS Group, which includes Masttech, said, “We will continue our mast design and production, which we have been continuing since 2019 with Will-Burt by focusing on technologies that do not exist in Turkey, locally and nationally in the upcoming period. Masttech will continue on its path as a Turkish company from now on. With the new structuring, we will transform Masttech into a production base by adding new ones to the existing product families.”

GÖKALP: “Collaboration with US Partner Will Continue”

Will-Burt, who saw the masts Masttech produced for another company in Turkey and proposed a partnership in 2019, has had a 6-year collaboration process with Masttech.

Masttech, which focuses on technologies that are not available in Turkey, especially pneumatic masts, exported approximately 95 percent of the masts it produced, primarily to the US, UK and Germany. MolekulAS Group, which is turning to new fields of activity such as energy and communication in line with its growth targets, started negotiations with its US partner in February to purchase all of Masttech. The acquisition process was completed on

May 20 after negotiations that lasted approximately 3 months. Masttech, which signed a special agreement with Will-Burt during this process, will continue to design and manufacture masts in addition to continuing its engineering support to Will-Burt. Emphasizing that the new agreement made by ending the existing partnership with Will-Burt is a win-win situation, GÖKALP said that they will continue to provide engineering support and supply products to the US company.

Masttech Enters Growth Proces

Stating that they will undergo a new structuring at Masttech after the acquisition, GÖKALP made the following statements: “We will restructure and grow both in terms of facilities and human resources at Masttech and develop product families. By focusing on R&D and P&D studies, we will develop our products with a load carrying capacity from 70 kg to 1 ton, while also adding new ones to them. When our new facility, which is currently under construction, is completed, Masttech will carry out the production activities of mobile communication towers for Inttow, one of our group companies, in addition to its own products. We are transforming Masttech into a domestic and national production base.”
