MURATREİS Submarine Moved to Floating Dock
The third vessel of the REİS-Class Submarines, MURATREİS, was moved to the floating dock on June 7, 2024, at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command.
On June 8, the Ministry of National Defence posted a statement on its official social media account regarding the matter, stating, "MURATREİS, the third of the six submarines undergoing construction, outfitting, and testing at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard, moved from the submarine construction hall to the floating dock on June 7, 2024."
Construction activities of the other five submarines continue, with plans to commission one submarine per year until 2027. Following the first submarine TCG PİRİREİS (S-330), the deliveries will continue with TCG HIZIRREİS (S-331), TCG MURATREİS (S-332), TCG AYDINREİS (S-333), TGC SEYDİALİREİS (S-334), and TCG SELMANREİS (S-335).
Under the New Type Submarine Project (REİS-Class), the first submarine built at Gölcük Naval Shipyard, PİRİREİS, is planned to be commissioned this year after completing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT). The project's second vessel, HIZIRREİS, was launched at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard on May 25, 2023.
The REİS-Class submarine project anticipates a total delivery time of 62 months for each vessel, including 42 months for construction and outfitting, 9 months for harbor acceptance tests (HAT), and 11 months for sea acceptance tests (SAT). In the Reis class submarine project, prominent Turkish defence industry companies such as ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, STM, TÜBİTAK, AYESAŞ, and MilSOFT serve as suppliers.
