Now with ATMACA, Turkey Stands Among 5 Countries in the World Capable of Producing Anti-Ship Missiles
Roketsan is among the top 100 defense companies in the world, and continues to expand the power of Turkey, with the development of indigenous and national technologies. ATMACA, developed by Roketsan with domestic and national resources within the scope of the project executed by the Presidency of Defense Industries, makes a name for itself as a weapon system ready for service on modern navy platforms with its long range, low radar cross section and high precision capability.
ATMACA is effective against fixed and moving targets thanks to its three-dimensional advanced mission planning system with its target update, re-attack and mission abort capabilities, and can be used under all weather conditions. Developed to protect Turkey’s interests and rights in the Blue Homeland, ATMACA, with its over 220 km range follows the sea surface from a very close altitude with a high level of sea-skimming capability and cannot be detected by radars of enemy elements. Equipped with a Global Positioning System, Inertial Navigation System, Barometric Altimeter and Radar Altimeter subsystems, ATMACA uses its active radar seeker to find its target with high precision. It has an advanced and modern data link for its target update, re-attack and mission abort capabilities. The system offers the most efficient mission profile offers operation modes of timing, hitting and firing the target. With its prominent structural design, ATMACA was designed using composite material technologies in order to reduce weight and increase structural strength in line with developing technologies.
Activities for various versions are in progress
The serial production activities of ATMACA, designed and produced by Roketsan engineers with domestic and national capabilities, including software, continue at full steam. ATMACA is planned to be delivered to ships in the inventory of the Naval Forces Command in the second quarter of this year. Roketsan is also conducting activities for coastal defense and ground-to-ground versions of the missile.
