Patria has signed a contract with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (“Kongsberg”) for the delivery of PROTECTOR RS4 remote weapon stations for more than 300 Patria 6x6 armored vehicles within the multinational Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program.

The contract, valued at approximately 140 million euros, includes an additional order for Sweden as well as RS4 subsystems for several CAVS vehicle variants ordered by Germany in December 2025. The assembly of these vehicles will be carried out in cooperation with Patria’s industrial partners in Germany, with deliveries scheduled for 2026–2030.

The Finnish-led CAVS program currently consists of seven member nations: Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, The United Kingdom and Norway with the vehicles being also operational in Ukraine. Within the CAVS program, the 6x6 armored vehicle system development is led by Patria, that has more than four decades of experience in developing and delivering state-of-the-art protected troop transportation and system integration. Vast majority of supply of vehicles is conducted by utilizing the member nations’ local industry capabilities and every new nation is inherently reinforcing the security of supply for the whole collaboration system.

Patria has already contracted nearly 2000 Patria 6x6 vehicles including options and has delivered more than 300 vehicles. The program is open to other countries with similar equipment requirements, by mutual consent of the participating countries.
