Defence Turkey: First of all thank you for the interview. Could you please inform us about your capabilities and products?
Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) is a state owned Pakistani establishment which provides complete security support to the land forces of Pakistan which includes army, navy air force and other security elements. We do weapons and equipments from small arms to medium to heavy arms so it actually goes to complete range. It covers the range of small arms, artillery ammunition, hunting ammunition and rockets, grenades plus we have the capability for working on equipment such as shooting equipment. So it is basically covers complete spectrum for both security and sports.
Defence Turkey:  What do you display in IDEF this year?
We display our complete range of products in IDEF. We are not new in IDEF. We have been participating in IDEF for years. We have special relations with Turkey so we actually have almost 60 products to display here.
Defence Turkey:  Could you please inform us about your activities in Turkey? As you said the relations between Turkey and Pakistan are special.
Our activities are at government level, we interact with the ministry, we interact with the defence industry, we interact with the downstream industry of Turkish land force, Turkish security elements. For example there are industries which are in the private sector and of course we have very good cooperation with industries like MKEK and Roketsan, Aselsan. So it is a pretty wide range cooperation that we have.
Defence Turkey:  What are your future interest areas and plans in Turkey?
I think we have a lot of mutual interests where we can cooperate in weapons and ammunition which are insensitive. We can mutually work together which will make the products more affordable, more capable and of course cheaper.
Defence Turkey:  Could you please inform us about your activities with Turkish companies?
EK and we have almost similar on lines as MKEK is. And other than that, we have almost concluded a contract with Sarsılmaz and we are working with other companies which are working on materials, like Nurol Makine for example. As you see the product range is so wide. We have cooperation with so many companies in Turkey.
Defence Turkey: Would you like to add a message for Defence Turkey readers?
This field is a really expanding field, it is expanding towards commercial side; the private companies are coming in. I think your magazine gives a good representation to them, so your magazine is doing a wonderful job.
