SimBT Signed an Indigenous Product
SimBT Simulation Science and Technologies Engineering Consulting and Trade Limited Company has completed the turn-key installation of Maritime Simulators, which were designed and developed specifically to meet the training needs of managers, operators and ship personnel who will take charge in maritime safety and emergency response to environmental pollution by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety affiliated to the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The aforementioned Maritime Simulators consist of a Full Mission Bridge Simulator, Tug Simulator, Emergency Response Simulator and Vessel Traffic Services Simulator. These simulators, along with other maritime simulations and simulators of SimBT, are labeled below as "Maritime Simulations and Simulators Product Family (MarSim)" as shown in Figure-1.
MarSim products meet the training standards of the International Convention (STCW) defined on the basis of "Seafarers Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Standards.”
MarSim products have easy-to-use interfaces and realistic hydro-dynamic ship models that work integrated with each other in individual, team and joint training modes.
The “MarSim Full Mission Bridge Simulator” shown in Figure-2 is designed to provide training on 24 different types of ships in order to gain the skills specified in the Seafarers and Pilots Training and Exam Directive and to increase the level of effectiveness as much as possible. It was developed using “Maneuver and Motion Modeling Software” and a visual “Image Generator.”
In the TUG Simulator shown in Figure-3, training of internationally accepted ASD and VSP type tugs can be carried out. An effective training environment has been designed by creating conditions jointly with the FMBS that tug captains cannot easily encounter in real life.
The Full Mission Bridge Simulator and Tug Simulator can operate independently in different scenarios as well as in a joint scenario.
The "Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) Simulator" shown in Figure-4 was designed and developed for the training of ship traffic operators. With its infrastructure supporting ENC maps, it provides a realistic environment for the training of ship traffic operators. While individual training can be provided with the STS Simulator, joint training can also be carried out in the same scenario with the Full Mission Bridge and Tug Simulators.
The Emergency Response Simulator (ERS), which consists of Marine Pollution Spread Prediction and Emergency Response Tactical Simulations, was designed and developed for the purpose of preparing a marine pollution response plan and providing training. With this simulator, liquid, chemical, solid wastes and pollution can be created, thus increasing the experience of the personnel against every possible situation that may actually occur.
In joint training mode, while sea pollution is created by the ERS, emergency response procedures are operated by the VTS, and pollution can be intervened in the most realistic way by using marine pollution vehicles in the Full Mission Bridge and Tug Simulators.
The Maritime Simulators delivered to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety are the only such simulator solutions in Turkey and are among a few in the world, with their capabilities and scenarios.
