TAI Top Level Representatives in Pakistan and Germany
TAI officials participated in IDEAS Defence Industry Fair held in Karachi on 1-4 December 2014 and in Berlin Security Conference that took place on 2-3 December 2014.
“IDEAS offers an important potential for our sector”
TAI was represented at top-level with the participation of TAI Chairman of the Board Mr. Yalçın Kaya, Board Member Mr. Mehmet Kılıçlar, Integrated Aircraft Group Head Özcan Ertem, Helicopter Group Head Metin Sancar and Space Systems Group Head Sinan Şenol at the 8th of Defence Industry Fair and Seminar IDEAS 2015 that takes place biannually for introducing the latest technological developments (innovations) to industry’s important players in Karachi city of Pakistan.
TAI’s stand where the products and capabilities were demonstrated drew the attention of the visitors. Mentioning that TAI’s participation in this organization meant a lot for them, Mr. Yalçın Kaya added “Hosting one of the greatest fairs of the defence industry in international arena, IDEAS bears an important potential for our sector with participants from approximately 57 countries. Participating in this fair as TAI and holding talks with other representatives give us vital opportunities to further improve our business every day”.
Turkey Leaves a Big Impression in Berlin Security Conference
Berlin Security Conference aiming at the countries cooperating with the European Armed Forces and security organizations was held on 2-3 December 2014. TAI’s stand once more drew the attention of the crowd at the Conference. TAI President&CEO Mr. Muharrem Dörtkaşlı gave an opening remark at the Conference and took part in the panel themed “Industrial Cooperation for Security and Defence – Turkey as a Partner” as a panelist that took place on the second day of the event.
In his opening speech, Mr. Dörtkaşlı stated that Turkey made an important progress in Turkish Defence and Aerospace Industry during the last 10 years and added “As of today, Turkish companies are among the most significant strategic partners of the world’s defence and aerospace industry companies. The total turnover of Turkish Defence and Aerospace Industry is approximately 5 billion USD while its export is around 1,5 billion USD. Our objective as the Defence and Aerospace Industry is to increase the total turnover to 8 billion USD by 2016 and raise the level of exports to 2 billion USD in line with the strategic targets of the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries”.

Mr. Dörtkaşlı underlined the fact that Turkey was a member of G20 International Economic Cooperation Forum and continued “The structuring represents 90% of the world’s gross product, 82% of world trade and two third of world population. While Turkey assumes the execution of the presidency of this forum in 2015 which is highly important for all over the world, it ceaselessly continues its efforts to make the world a safer place for all of us”.
