TCG “Büyükada” Drop Anchor in Gulf

Built under the scope of MİLGEM Project under the leadership of Naval Forces, design, equipment, supply management and integrated logistic support services executed by STM, the vessel TCG “Büyükada”, is continuing its visits at the Gulf countries’ ports. Büyükada corvette performing port visits and education activities between the dates of January 18th – April 19th, at the Gulf of Aden, The Arabian Sea and The Persian Gulf attracted great attention in Kuwait. The vessel accompanied by a team of experts from STM, also the export authority of the MİLGEM Project, was introduced to senior officials from Kuwait Naval Forces. 

Marveled with its modern systems 

STM personnel also joined the planned visit of the Turkish Naval Forces to the Arabian Sea and the regional countries. While the STM team made a presentation to the Kuwait Naval Forces, authorities providing information on the MİLGEM Project and the Büyükada Corvette, daily cruise activities were performed with the Kuwait Naval Forces personnel, to demonstrate the combat capabilities of the vessel.  In addition, the technical specifications of the corvette were demonstrated in applied methods to the Kuwait authorities. 

Pioneering role for STM

STM, has the responsibilities of the vessels TCG “Büyükada” as well as TCG “Heybeliada” constructed under the MİLGEM Project coverage for the supply of platform construction and equipment materials, design services, integrated logistic support services. On the other hand, it will transfer the experiences it has acquired from the first and 2nd vessels to the third and fourth vessels of the MİLGEM Project signed on the date July the 25th, 2014.   In addition to its responsibilities in the first Project, STM has also undertaken the responsibilities of the supply of the Main Drive System and Integration which is the first of the most important systems of a vessel.
