TEI Debuts Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Building with a Splendid Ceremony

TEI debuted its Advanced Manufacturing Technologies building with a ceremony attended by Mr. Fikri Işık, Minister of Defense, Mr. Nabi Avci, Minister of Culture and Tourism and distinguished guests.
TEI president & CEO Mr. Mahmut F. Akşit gave the keynote speech at the opening ceremony, underlining TEI’s position as the leading supplier of the LEAP engine part globally, thanks to this investment.  Mr. Akşit also noted that the building costs of  $10 million has a total investment value of $ 110 million together with its manufacturing equipment, however, the investment is expected to bring $ 2 billion through export of the parts to be produced in the new building over the next two decades.
Mr. Mike Wilking, VP of Business Development Sales & Marketing of Military Systems at General Electric Aviation took the floor after Aksit’s speech and expressed his satisfaction for TEI’s position as a leading global engine supplier leveraged by their partnership that spans more than 30 years, and noted that they would continue to invest in the future.
Mr. Nabi Avcı, Minister of Culture and Tourism and Member of Parliament of Eskişehir, highlighted the importance of TEI to Eskişehir. “TEI adds significant value to not only the industry but also to the social life in Eskişehir through the social and training projects it has carried out” he noted.
Mr. Fikri Işık, Minister of Defense, took the floor for the final speech, during which he drew attention to the current situation since the coup attempt on July 15. “I would like to congratulate people of command of Combatant Air Force on their successful operations against the terrorists disguised in military uniform, and thank people of Eskişehir once again for standing for democracy” he said. Minister of Defense also underlined TEI’s achievements so far: “TEI is source of pride for Turkey as it has become a leading global engine part manufacturer and turned Eskişehir into an important center in this area. Companies which have faith in Turkey always win, and General Electric represents a good example of this fact,” he said. “Design of the diesel engine for UAVs has been completed and manufacture is planned for 2018; thanks to this design, we will be able to export it without any limitations and I congratulate TEI management and employees on this achievement.  I am very proud of to say that we will be able to produce an indigenous aircraft engine within 5 years, and TEI will be the manufacturer of this engine.”
After the delivery of the speeches, company ID cards were presented to 31 new employees who completed the on-the-job training program conducted by TEI in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor and Social Security.  Finally, the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Building was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the stage.
