The FTR Mobile Fire Tests are Proceeding in the Altay Program

The productions of PV1 Tank to be subjected to operation/force ability and durability qualification tests and PV2 Tank to be used in fire arm qualification tests by the Turkish Armed Forces and Under secretariat for Defence Industries has been completed. In the announcements made by Otokar, it is stated that these tanks have been made ready for system qualification and acceptance tests. With the start of the qualification tests of PV1 and PV2 tanks, preparations for the serial production will be accelerated. 

“Tulpar” Motion Ability and Safety Tests are Proceeding

A new threshold in the development activities of a new generation Armoured Tracked Vehicle introduced by Otokar in the year 2013, Tulpar, has been passed. Currently motion/mobility ability tests are proceeding on the platform to be able to meet different mobility and job profile needs of users. In the next Tulpar program stage, where all mobility ability tests are successfully carried on, durability tests will be commenced. 

Tulpar, acquiring its name from the legendary winged horse protecting the warrior in the Manas Saga, was developed in the qualifications and specifications that will enable it to work together with main battle tanks in accordance with the requirements of the 21st Century. In addition to its crew of 3 persons, Tulpar can carry an infantry squad of 9 in complete outfit under its highly armoured protection/guard.  Tulpar which can be used by different arm groups and transmission/ transfer bodies has a modular armour structure and the highest ballistic and mine protection of its class. 

In addition, this armour structure can be structured and scaled suitable to action/interest in accordance to the threat. Major important sub-systems of the vehicle like suspension, main frame sub-systems like speed reduction, palette stretch are also a hundred percent Otokar’s design.
