The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Designed and Developed in Turkey is now Ready for Operation
With the leadership of Aselsan, Turkey’s first SAR system, SARPER has been successfully developed and demonstrated. SARPER radaris capable of generating high resolution radar images and moving target detection in adverse weather conditions, day and night.
SARPE features are;
Spotlight Mode for high resolution imaging,
Stripmap Mode for wide area imaging,
GMTI (Ground Moving Target Indicator) Mode for moving object detection.
Some of the applications of SARPER in civilian areas are; cartography, urban planning, post-disaster damage assessment and crisis management.
ISAR and Sea Search modes have been implemented on SARPER radar and it has been integrated on ANKA Blok-B platform. SARPER will be operational on ANKA in 2015.
Synthetic Aperture Radar Pod development is going on for reconnaissance and surveillance missions to be conducted with fighter aircrafts.
Design and development activities of Synthetic Aperture Radar payload for GOKTURK-3 SAR Satellite have also been continued for a while.
