World-Class Products Manufactured by the Turkish Defense and Aerospace Industry Capturing International Attention

Thanks to its investment generated in last decade and sustainable policies, Turkey gained momentum on exporting defense industry products worldwide, manufacturing it’s indigenous aircraft, helicopters, armored land vehicles, infantry rifles, satellites, radar and electronic warfare systems and combat ships. 

The power of the Turkish defense industry has been emerged from our intense capabilities on developing innovative technologies by investments of our companies with a spirit of innovation.  Due to this power, the companies which could be able to respond to diverse requirements, manufacture not only marine vessels but also amphibious vehicles, set new standards, could perform trade with continuity and high customer satisfaction in target markets.

The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) has awarded 233 contracts out of 416 projects. The amount of these contracts are approx. 85.5 billion TL ($ 29,4 billion). In respect of changing conjuncture and challenges in the world as well as in our region, our companies maintain to work intensively on manufacturing advanced, high qualified and cost-effective solutions in order to meet the requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, other public institutions and allied nations.

Despite the military spending reduction due to the import recession worldwide, Turkish Defense industry was the only sector in Turkey that raised its export in 2015 and increased exports compared to last year. Since the establishment of the Defense and Aerospace Industry Exporters’ Association (SSI), defense exports have been thriving each year.

The export markets of Turkish defense and aerospace products and services cover a vast geography from The United States, European Union, Middle East and Asian countries, Commonwealth of Independent States to Far East.  Our companies are under the umbrella of Turkish Defense Exporters’ Union indigenous satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, armored land vehicles, training aircraft, helicopters, infantry rifles, combat ships, missiles and rocket systems, simulation and software with its qualified human resources, research institutes, R&D laboratories. Moreover, Turkey that has take her place in multinational projects such as F 35 JSF and the A400M, has launched its indigenous fighter jet and helicopter programs as well as Satellite Launch Center. Turkey also has established Spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test Center (AIT) with its reputable companies and SMEs. In Naval platforms, Turkey made great progress over the years and accelerated its export activities. Turkish Corvette MİLGEM has been commissioned for 2 years. The Turkish Defense products with outstanding technologies, take sound achievements on international test fields. Turkey has now reached the point where it can set their own standards. SSI promotes defense industry products, which provide alternatives according to the needs of our customers and deliver on time with competitive prices. 

It is clear that we can develop our new markets with our well-known and reliable products. We are very confident in our products. Therefore we keep on participating at international exhibitions and we count on the DIMDEX 2016 Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference Fair to be a great opportunity to promote our products.
