After the Defense Industry Executive
Committee meeting hold on March 30,
2007; it has been decided to start contract
negotiations with Agusta
Westland as a result of evaluation of
bids from AgustaWestland and Denel,
that earlier had been shortlisted in
ATAK Helicopter Project. TUSAS
Aerospace Industries (TAI) will be the
local prime contractor. Helicopters
will be produced in TAI facilities.
System integration which will consist
of Avionic Systems, Armament System
and Mission Computer, (the hardware
and software), will be integrated to the
Helicopters by TAI and Aselsan. The
other Turkish Industry Participation to
the ATAK Program has been underway.
In the scope of the collaboration agreement
which will be signed between TAI
and AgustaWestland, sales and marketing
of T-129 ATAK Helicopter will
be jointly performed.
