TAI’S IT DEPARTMENT RECEIVES CMMI LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE
Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI), the center of aerospace in Turkey, has received Software Engineering CMMI Maturity Level–3 Certificate on 6 July 2007.
Date: Issue 7 - January 2008
Following the activities carried out for almost a year and as a result of the audit, realized by “A1 Independent Consulting” company, it was verified that TAI’s Information Technologies
activities are compatible with the CMMI Level-3 requirements. The Software Engineering Institute
(SEI), defined the perfection and the maturity models (SW-CMM, SECMM, IPD-CMM) with the thesis of “the quality of a system or a product depends on the quality of the process that is used for the development and the maintenance of that product.” The CMMI was created by using these
models as a source. Processes, on which organizations focus while improving business methods, are the most important factors that keep the three critical factors which are “human resource”, “procedure and methods” together “tools and equipment” together. Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is
a process model that evaluates the maturity of the software processes (Software Planning, Development, Support, Configuration, etc.) organizations. TAI’s Information Technologies
Department does not only feel proud to receive the CMMI Level-3 Certificate, but also takes the advantages of implementing it in all processes.
With this certificate, TAI, which will increase its competition power and raise its maturity level by developing products that meets the requirements of CMMI methodology, will also continue to be in the service of Turkey with its capabilities.
