Turkish Aerospace signed a protocol with 20 universities within the scope of the “Trainee Engineer Program” which was put into practice for the second time this year. A protocol was signed with an additional 20 leading universities in Turkey in addition to the protocol with 20 universities signed last year within the scope of the program which aims to train competent engineers with university-industry cooperation. Approximately 1,000 students are planned to be included in the program this year with the protocols signed. At the ceremony, the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution signed a protocol supporting the program.
Turkish Aerospace has made an important step to ensure a direct contribution to Turkey’s defence industry by placing its signature under the significant cooperation endeavor in Turkey with the involvement of 40 universities for the Trainee Engineer Program. The Turkish Aerospace Industry has once more emphasized the importance given to the Trainee Engineer Program and young people by reaching out to the brightest students who are being trained at Turkish universities with the aim of making young engineers ready for indigenization and nationalization immediately, obtaining efficiency from young engineers as soon as possible and ensuring the timely realization of future of future projects.
A protocol was also signed with the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution. Within the scope of the Trainee Engineer Program, students participating in the Program from universities other than Ankara will be able to obtain accommodation opportunities in accordance with the quotas given by the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution.
The protocols were signed by 20 university rectors, the representative of the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution, and the Chairman of the Board of Turkish Aerospace Prof. Oğuz BORAT and President & CEO Prof. Temel KOTIL. Speaking about the signed protocol, President & CEO Prof. Temel KOTIL once again emphasized the importance of the trainee program. KOTIL: “There are important tasks and big projects that our government has given us. Universities are the important source in order to achieve these projects. The protocol we signed here with our esteemed universities and our valued students in order to achieve our goals will provide benefits toward the future development of our country. Together with you, we will increase our number of engineers, we will realize our projects with our young people”.
What is the Trainee Engineer Program?
3rd or 4th year students of the departments of mechanical, electrical-electronics / communication, aviation, aeronautical, space, industrial, computer, metallurgy and materials, chemistry, mechatronics engineering will be able to participate in the program. The trainees will work at Turkish Aerospace at least 1 full day a week. In cities where the company does not perform activities, Turkish Aerospace engineers will go to universities and work with students. Students will be insured by the universities during their studies, will benefit from the facilities of the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution and will also be paid for their studies with Turkish Aerospace.
