The acceptance process of the MERTER Portable Electronic Attack System, which was developed and produced entirely with domestic resources as part of the Portable Electronic Attack System (MERT / MERTER) Project signed at IDEF 2019 between the Presidency of Defense Industry Agency and Meteksan Defense Industry Inc., was successfully completed. The system was also delivered to the security forces.
The MERTER Portable Electronic Attack System was designed and developed as an Electronic Attack (EA) system to be used in the relevant frequency band to prevent target elements from communicating at a remote distance. The system, developed to cater to different operational requirements, can be employed in a fixed configuration on a tripod or mast or man portable configuration with a backpack covering the entire V/UHF frequency band.
While activating the electronic attack with its high-gain directional and omnidirectional antennas, the system can also be controlled via a smart tablet or computer. The system, which can be powered by its own batteries, can also be operated over urban power grids.
President of Meteksan Defense Selçuk Kerem ALPARSLAN stated that MERTER has been specially designed based on the needs of security forces in order to satisfy the next generation electronic attack requirements. "While designing MERTER, which has high programmability and high mobility features with broadband receiver structure, we made use of user experience, and prioritized ease of use and portability. We are proud to have provided our security forces with the MERTER Portable Electronic Attack System, which has unique features with its indigenous design, software, and hardware produced by taking into consideration the most recent technology. We hope it will be beneficial to our country.”
Meteksan Defense’s MERTER Portable Electronic Attack System and the MERT EW System, which can be mounted on vehicles or fixed facilities, were revealed at IDEF 19.
Vice President of Meteksan Defense Erdal TORUN said the following in 2019 the about the fixed and mobile next generation EW systems which were unveiled at that time: "The limitations of previous EW systems, such as restricted programmability, a low bandwidth receiver structure, and low mobility, have all been totally solved with this system. Additionally, in order to protect the soldiers from IEDs, we have provided higher effective ranges. User experience, ease of use and portability were all considered when designing the system. Due to its entirely domestic and national design and software and hardware compatibility with advancing technology, the system offers unique features.”
