Alp Aviation Signs $480 Million Long-Term Agreement to Provide Machined Parts for Pratt & Whitney’s Purepower Engine Family
Alp Aviation signed an eleven-year agreement with the world’s leading aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. Company. This agreement gives Alp Aviation an opportunity to export critical jet engine components for an estimated value of $480 million dollars. The agreement was signed on June 15th, 2015 during Paris Airshow with a ceremony that was attended by İsmail Demir, Undersecretary of Defence Industry and SSM representatives. Under this agreement, Alp becomes the main global source for 13 critical rotating components including front and fan rear hubs of PW1200G engine for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), the PW1500G engine for the Bombardier C Series aircraft, the PW1100G-JM engine for the Airbus A320neo and the PW800 engine for the Gulfstream G800.

Following a product development process, production deliveries shall start in late 2016 and ramp up will gradually continue, making a significant contribution to development of Alp Aviation and her sub tiers in Turkey.
With dedicated engine components facility & business unit, Alp Aviation produces engine rotating hardware such as fan rotors & fan rear hub for F135 and Sync Rings for Pratt & Whiney F135 & F100.
Alp Aviation is also the major source for Pratt & Whitney F135 Stage 2, 3, 4 & 5 Ti Integrally Bladed Rotors (IBRs) as well as Fan rotor rear hub. An R&D contract was also signed in November 2011 between Alp and Pratt & Whitney to develop F135 Nickel IBR stages, under which development work is on-going.
