November 26, 2021 - As part of the Supply of Equipment to Increase Border Surveillance Capacity at South Eastern Borders project, conducted with the contribution of the European Union, one hundred DragonEye Electro-Optical Sensor Systems were delivered to the Land Forces Command at Aselsan’s facilities in Akyurt.
To date over 700 DragonEye systems have been delivered in the country and abroad. The systems supplied by Aselsan for the prevention of irregular migration activities at Turkey’s southeastern border will be used by border troops stationed at Hatay, Gaziantep, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Şırnak provinces.
Within the scope of the contract amounting to nearly EUR 28 million, 284 thermal cameras will be delivered to the border troops at the Syrian border. The Directorate General of Provincial Administration and Land Forces Command are the beneficiaries of the project. As part of another project with a budget of EUR 109 million signed in 2019 and conducted with Aselsan, supply and construction of border watchtowers are being carried out at 352 locations. These activities were completed to a large extent in the eastern and western borders.
