Aselsan Combined Several Different Capabilities Related to Public Safety Communication Solutions on One Device

Multipurpose Advanced Transceiver Equipment (MATE) is the advanced radio transceiver designed by Aselsan as a member of 4900 ATLAS radio family.  MATE presents a modular and flexible structure with its hardware and software capabilities.

Multi configurationally MATE can be used as a ‘mobile radio’ mounted on a vehicle;  a ‘desktop radio’ installed  to public safety management centers, radio centers; a ‘mobile repeater’ located to provide local direct mode coverage for the radios around; a ‘fixed system repeater’  as a component of wide area radio system that communicates with central switching unit; a direct mode ‘telephone exchange device’ for telephone interconnections.

MATE is able to operate in VHF and UHF bands, analog, digital clear and digital encrypted modes, to establish different types of connections with many devices. Using with its accessories and auxilary units such as desktop head, hand head, application head provides a comfortable usage to user. Integrated capabilities such as internal GPS, WIFI, bluetooth, USB and Ethernet interfaces gives opportunity to variety of applications. 

MATE has Linux operating system and its software can be improved easily. There are several services running on MATE as a solution to many use scenarios. It is possible to develop new services in addition to the existing ones. This device can be used in P25 and SK2 (Aselsan proprietary protocol) communication systems. It was delivered to Turkish Gendarmerie General Command.
